The Hayloft
The final room for pre-school children before they head to Primary School, the Hayloft helps to nurture confident, independent thinkers. Through a balance of fun and learning, we encourage your child to develop essential skills like communication, self-care, and social interaction. Our focus on physical development and a positive attitude towards learning will give your child the best possible start to their educational journey.

Forest school
Every child in the Hayloft will get the opportunity to explore Forest school offsite at Grange Wood during the week.
The Forest school site has been carefully planned and developed to provide child-led play, as well as practitioner-led activities such as using age-appropriate tools. Our Forest school level 3 practitioners cook a nutritious, hearty lunch on the fire for everyone to enjoy!

Learning through play
Our curriculum is delivered through planned, purposeful play based on observations of children's interests and levels of development. This approach helps to build a secure foundation for children to have positive attitudes to their future learning.
We aim to help children to be ready for their move to school and we have fostered positive relationships with local schools to make this transition as easy as possible.

Physical movement
As well as Forest school visits, the Hayloft children participate in extra-curricular opportunities including ball skills/ football coaching, dance classes, yoga, gym, woodwork and cookery.
The Hayloft has free access to a paved garden area, perfect for exploring open-ended and 'loose parts' resources. Beyond the garden is a gardening patch, the Inspiration Shed, Art room and Woodwork room, as well as the Orchard, Tennis Court and Field.
